Custom 1961 Ford Starliner SR61

Custom 1961 Ford Starliner SR61

Built to perform better then it looks, this all aluminum 600cid/920hp Ford Racing engine backs up this Starliner's image. Putting out 800 lbs-ft of torque, this incredible engine is topped with Trick Flow heads and a Trick Flow dual quad Tunnel-Ram breathing through a pair of Holley Dominator carbs. Putting the power to the pavement is accomplished by a Richmond 6-speed transmission, a McLeod hydraulic release and a ram clutch connected to a Currie 9-Plus 4.10 geared 31 spine rear differential. The suspension consists of Air Ride Technologies' Shock Wave coilover air springs on all 4 corners with Speedway engineering. Anti-sway bars fore and aft. Connecting all of this together is a custom one-off Art Morrison square tube frame with additional gussets and cross members for increased strength and rigidity. Slowing her down is no problem with 13" rotors and Wilwood 6-piston calipers up front and 12" rotors with Wilwood 4-piston calipers out back. Rolling on custom Billet Specialties wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich Comp TA's. The custom-mixed PPG Vibrance Green paint shows off the long list of subtle yet substantial tweaks and modifications including a molded single-piece front-end, Cowl Induction, shaved door handles, fuel filler, hood trim and vent windows, custom rear filler panel, and side exit NASCAR inspired exhaust. The interior features a full length center console perfectly fitted between Wise Guys bucket seats all upholstered in two tone leather. The dash has been fitted with Autometer Lunar series gauges set in a removable panel for access to the MSD Ignition system. An Ellipse touch-screen CD/DVD/NAV unit is mounted to a full length roof console and helps to power a 12-speaker system and trunk mounted MTX-10" subs. A Vintage Air conditioning system keeps things cool should the need arise. Featured in many premier magazines including "Hot Rod" magazine, Summit Racing Catalog, "Ford Builder" magazine, numerous ARP and Flowmaster advertisements. This ultimate street machine won the coveted Best Engineered Award at the Detroit Autorama in 2007. Designed, developed and built to be driven this renowned Starliner has all of the engineering and testing thoroughly performed and completed to provide years of reliable high-performance driving well into the future.
