Donor vehicles help hide new Ford Explorer
In typical Ford fashion, the donor-body used for developmental testing on this future Explorer is made up of various vehicles. In this case, modified body panels of a Taurus X and Ford's new Flex are hiding the new unibody Explorer.
The 2011 Explorer will be riding on the D3 platform, the same as the Taurus and Taurus X -- and will likely carry over some styling cues from the Ford Explorer America Concept, which debuted at the 2008 Detroit auto show.
