Custom 1964 Ford Galaxie 500 XL Fastback
In 1964, Ford produced 2,450 "R" Code 427/425hp Galaxies. This rare Galaxie 500 XL 427/425hp comes with the original solid lifter engine and dual 4-barrel carbs with a 4-speed manual transmission with all matching numbers. This original "R" Code has factory correct cast iron headers, baldy chrome valve covers, fuel filter, air filter and original hubcaps and wheels. This car was a CA rust-free car with 83,480 original miles. This car underwent a ground-up restoration and was treated to a very dynamic personal touch. It was repainted in February 2006 with a two stage red paint. The body consists of all original panels. The car was color sanded and buffed to a mirror finish. The interior has the original dash pad and door panels. The front bucket seats were recovered in black vinyl to original style. During the restoration, all suspension components were replaced, the engine compartment was detailed and all of the trim inside and out was chromed, anodized, or polished to a new finish. Upgrades consist of a polished aluminum radiator with dual fans, front disc brakes, dual master cylinder and stainless brake lines. The car has received multiple awards in 2007 including Best in Show at the So-Cal Galaxie Club. It was also featured on the Mother's Wax web site.
The 210 replaced the B210 as Datsun's basic economy car. It was reliable, got good gas mileage, and was practical: all it needed to be. The design feature that stands out the most on these are the grill-mounted turn signals Click Here
